From Student to Future Psychologist: Shristi Borah’s Internship Experience at MYND Institute

My one-month internship at MYND Institute was one of the most meaningful learning experiences of my undergraduate journey in psychology. The exposure to psychological assessments, therapy sessions, and specialised programmes like ESSAH School for a week and even Revival wellness centre for two days gave me invaluable insight into the realities of clinical practice beyond textbooks.
This was my first time of actually seeing patients. How they’re like, what attitude is held towards them while interacting, how their emotional needs are being taken care of and many more. What made this experience truly impactful was witnessing the compassion, patience, and professionalism with which the team at MYND works with individuals and families navigating mental health challenges. It not only strengthened my understanding of psychology in practice but also helped me grow personally by developing empathy, ethical sensitivity, and professional confidence.
I am deeply grateful to Dr. Mythili Hazarika ma’am and the entire MYND team for creating such a supportive and enriching learning environment. This experience has greatly reinforced my commitment to pursuing psychology even further and will remain an important part of my professional journey.
